Hey folks,
Short newsletter and no promotions this week. Friday we laid to rest my Mom, Dianne Merritt. She was 80. Here’s the obituary I helped write, if you’d like to know a little more about her. Also for my Patreon Editor’s Desk I told the story about how my Mom helped get me a job at WGEL back in 1986, which in so many ways set me on the path I’m on now.
I debated whether to even send a newsletter out this week. But in the end I wanted you to know why there wouldn’t be one, since I’ve tried to be as straightforward as possible with this email. Of course, to explain why there wouldn’t be an email, requires an email, so here we are.
Thank you for all the condolences and well wishes. My older sister, my younger brother and I are doing OK. We have each other. I’ll be back to work Monday because it’s what helps me right now, to be honest. But at some point I’ll need to take a break. That’s just how I work. Delayed response. I’ve been through it enough times to know myself. So if I do take a longer break in the future, you’ll know why. And I’ll let you know in advance, don’t worry.
In the meantime, tell the ones you love, you love them, a little more often than you think you need to. I’ve done that and it helps. And if you can spare a thought or prayer for Dianne Marie (Berndanner) Merritt in the next few days, it will be much appreciated.
I’ll be back with tech news and Top 5s and more silliness next week. Until then, take care.
Tom
