Hey folks,
Wow. It’s been a long week!
I almost forgot that it started with me seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Then I read Lamarr Wilson’s newsletter where he mentioned that he and I saw it together on Sunday. That was THIS week?
Wild.
Turns out I really liked it. Great movie. Definitely made me cry a little, having not that long ago lost one of our dogs to cancer— but that’s just another reason it’s a good movie. Hits you in the feels. If you’re confused by that correlation, explaining would be a spoiler.
Monday on Cordkillers, we focused on how the writers strike might affect the networks and shows you watch. The strike felt new back then. On Monday. So long ago.
Then I wrote an explainer on my tech newsletter about why AI might need a constitution.
Wednesday was Google I/O
And Thursday and Friday Agust D was in concert at the Forum in LA.
TIP: If you get sound check for Agust D on Sunday, and you don’t care about barricade, you don’t need to go in early. The wrist band has a number. Just grab you’re wrist band when you’re ready and be in there before the early admissions close and you’ll be fine. Otherwise you’re just waiting in a line with a pre-assigned number that you could have joined at any time and still be in the same place.
If the above doesn’t make sense, don’t worry about it. It’s for ARMY.
Finally, we’re here! Friday! It is Top 5 day! This week it’s a super fun one too. The top 5 best tech from the 1970s. Whether you’re into 1970s retro fun, nostalgic for a simpler time or just grew up then, like me, get ready for a Top 5 list filled with beige and brown electronics!
What a week. On top of that I just checked my PO Box and cleared it out and another package arrived like the minute I left. So I should do that this weekend.
But then there’s Eurovision finals Saturday!
ARGH!
Have a great weekend, y’all.
Tom
