Hey there,
Yesterday I got to do something I oddly love doing. That is to fly into a town, do a shoot and fly back home the same day. I don’t know why, but it always amazes me that it’s even possible.
I think the first time I ever did it was for the old Sword and Laser video show. I would fly up to San Francisco, we would record episodes of Sword and Laser and I’d fly back to LA. I also did it for TMS Las Vegas last year.
Well yesterday, I did it for my friend Nate Lanxon. Now it’s no secret that Nate works at Bloomberg and that Nate does some shows for Bloomberg TV. Those are true things. And when I can tell you more I definitely will. But I can say I had a lot of fun, met some great people, (shout out to Cicily at Bloomberg who made sure I arrived at all), and had a wonderful conversation.
Plus after we were done, I got to sit on a very cold and sunny bench and talk to Nate about streaming SimCity from a Macintosh Classic, while eating a Jalapeño croissant. OK technically the streaming talk came about after we very sensibly moved inside and I had finished the croissant. But you get the picture.
Now I’m off to holiday for a week with my wife. When I get back it’s time to head to Austin for Brian Brushwood’s Founder’s Day events! So BUSY! I love it.
In the meantime do be sure to peruse the fine content offerings below in which I had a part, or which I found especially useful. Especially the quiz on Troubled Waters! It was embarrassing how much Album Rock is still stuck in my head.
Cheers,
Tom
